This agreement will bring over 300 hours of original programming to Netflix; which also includes the new series Turbo F.A.S.T. that is based off of the upcoming animated film Turbo by DreamWorks. It will also include other work from DreamWorks Animation’s film library.

The company already had a contract with Viacom; that contract brought us Nickelodeon’s Kung Fu Panda: Legends of Awesomeness, Monster vs. Aliens, and The Penguins of Madagascar.

The Cartoon Network is currently playing DreamWorks’ Dragons: Riders of Burk.  All of these shows are based off of previous DreamWorks Animation movies.

With this deal, Netflix will possibly allow DreamWorks Animation to create more animated original series based off of pervious films such as The Croods.

DreamWorks Animation CEO Jeffrey Katzenberg had this to say when talking about the deal made with Netflix, “This is an unprecedented commitment to original content in the internet television space.

“Netflix is a visionary company that continues to redefine the way audiences watch television and it is a thrill to their growing momentum.”

Turbo F.A.S.T. will premiere in December on Netflix, and we can expect to see more original work from DreamWorks in 2014.
