Boston based band Dropkick Murphys raised $100,000 dollars for the victims of the Boston Marathon Bombings through sales of a special tribute T-shirt via their website.

Within the first 15 hours of the shirt becoming available the band had raised $65,000 dollars. A few hours after that they had reached $100,000 dollars.

On the front of the shirt it reads: “FOR BOSTON”. The back of the shirt says “Thank you, to all who purchased this shirt. All proceeds go to the victims and families of the Boston Marathon bombings. Love, Dropkick Murphys.” This quote is over the Boston city seal.

Purchase of the t-shirt has also recently become available to the countries of “Ireland, UK, Europe and Oz (Australia)” according to the band.

The punk band has been touring recently. However, their thoughts are not far from home tweeting the day of the manhunt: ““Waking up on the west coast to this insanity! Our hearts go out to all the victims… Be safe Boston. Cant wait to get home!”
