Dylan Farrow, the adopted daughter of Woody Allen and Mia Farrow, wrote a first person account published in The New York Times columnist’s blog where she talks for the first time in public about being sexually assaulted by her father at the age of seven.

It was when Woody Allen and Mia Farrow split up as a couple in 1992 that the accusations started to surface. He later married Soon-Yi Previn in 1997, who was also an adopted daughter of Farrow.

The film director was never found guilty of sexually assaulting his adopted daughter, but the accusations were renewed after Allen was given a lifetime achievement award during this year’s Golden Globes.

Farrow describes how Allen’s behaviors affected her both psychologically and physically:

“These things happened so often, so routinely, so skillfully hidden from a mother that would have protected me had she known, that I thought it was normal. I thought this was how fathers doted on their daughters. But what he did to me in the attic felt different.”

She asks several stars who appear in his movie Blue Jasmine, like Cate Blanchett, “What if it was your child?”

She also addresses Diane Keaton who accepted Allen’s Golden Globes honor, “You knew me when I was a little girl, Diane Keaton. Have you forgotten me?”

Woody Allen nor his spokesmen have any comments on the matter.
