The mystery surrounding Microsoft’s trademarking of Ori and the Blind Forest a few months back has finally been revealed! The title most certainly belongs to an upcoming game, and while there isn’t much still known about it, it’s coming to an Xbox One near you this autumn.
In a small teaser trailer released by Microsoft during their E3 presentation today, a few tiny peeks were given as to how the game looks and how it plays. Aesthetically, it’s incredibly pleasing, seeming to take its art cues from Studio Ghibli and hand-drawn video games like Muramasa: The Demon Blade and Child of Light. Gameplay-wise it’s a platformer, but not a whole lot was shown to really indicate its idiosyncrasies.
Still though, I’m looking forward to this game tremendously, as it offers something truly unique to the Xbox One’s late 2014 lineup and it does so in a way that’s probably going to be absolutely beautiful in the purest of ways.
Check out the beauty of Ori and the Blind Forest to decide if you want it in your gaming arsenal:
