EA Talking Trash About Nintendo?

Looks like EA has done it again.

Known for their recent feud with Activision, it is somewhat surprising that EA would take up arms against one of the industry’s oldest game developers, Nintendo.

In recent tweets sent out by Electronic Arts’  Bob Summerwill, a senior software engineer for the company, he states that the “Wii U is crap. Less powerful than an Xbox 360. Poor online/store. Weird tablet.”

As if that wasn’t enough harm done, his subsequent tweet added insult to injury stating: “Nintendo are walking dead at this point.” Following that, he also tweeted: “Nintendo are still operating like its 1990,” and went on to say that they should leave the hardware business and go the Sega route making Legend of Zelda and Mario available on other consoles.

“Instead, they make this awful console,” read another tweet, and finally, in response to the issue about EA not developing anything else for the Wii U he wrote: “It is an utterly intentional decision to focus our resources on markets which actually matter.”

Ouch, Mr. Summerwill.

Let’s just hope you don’t end up like the much talked about Adam Orth (ex-Microsoft creative director) who famously told players to “get over the always on feature” via particularly mean spirited tweets and very soon after was no longer with the company.
