Well, “SING” has suddenly taken on a whole new meaning…

Ed Sheeran released the new music video for the first single from his upcoming album X this morning, and it certainly lived up to the description he gave it beforehand. The English singer/songwriter said a few days ago that it’s “really weird“, and would involve strippers, muppets, and Pharrell (now I see that isn’t really such a farfetched combination after all…).

Without giving everything away, Sheeran appears in his music video in both human and muppet form, and they’re equally adorable. The video is totally goofy, in a way that reflects Sheeran’s personality to the fullest.

I’ve now concluded that “SING” is actually him serenading a stripper that he once spent the night with.

If you’re having a bad day and need to smile, trust me, this video is the way to go. You can’t help but laugh, especially when you watch Ed Sheeran The Muppet pelvic-thrusting (I’m not kidding).

Hurry, though, because the video is up on Facebook for today only:

X hits stores on June 23, but you can pre-order the album now and automatically receive “SING”.
