Ed Sheeran Performs Insane Cover Of Christina Aguilera’s “Dirrty”

Ed Sheeran was a guest on BBC Radio 1’s Live Lounge and chose to perform Christina Aguilera’s 2002 hit, “Dirrty”.

With lots of success already in hand, Ed Sheeran is currently moving forward with the promotional campaign of his latest studio album, X. The latest stop on his schedule found the English singer stopping by BBC Radio 1’s Live Loungeand he performed his own version of Christina Aguilera’s hit single, “Dirrty”.

As per usual with Live Lounge visitors, Ed Sheeran had to pick another artist’s song to cover. Even though the tunes are mostly recent ones, the “Thinking Out Loud” crooner picked a pop classic instead. Accompanied by a band and some backing vocalists, he stripped down Christina Aguilera’s “Dirrty”, turning it into an acoustic track and still managing to deliver quite a jam. Singing the lyrics perfectly on point, he even gave the rap verse a try and pulled it off perfectly!

Ed Sheeran’s rendition arrives 13 years after the song came out to give some new life to it. The original “Dirrty” was released back in 2002 as the lead single off Christina Aguilera’s Stripped. The Redman-assisted tune re-introduced the songstress to the world as a grown and sexy girl and made quite some impact around the globe.
