Since Anne Hathaway shot down talks of her starring in the Broadway revival of Cabaret, new reports have surfaced – according to The Wrap – of Emma Stone playing Sally Bowles. If Stone is, indeed, cast in this role, it would mark her Broadway debut. She would follow in the footsteps of acclaimed stars such as Judi Dench, Natasha Richardson and Liza Minnelli, who have all played Sally Bowles in the past.
Though it’s not yet clear whether Stone will be involved in the project, the revival of Cabaret is slated to begin in 2014. The Roundabout Theatre will be orchestrating the revival at Studio 54. Alan Cumming has already been confirmed to reprise his role as Emcee in the production.
