In the era of reality TV and shows ‘documenting real life’ it’s time for the boys of The Wanted to join the E! Family with their own show; think Making the Band meets Mrs. Eastwood & Company with a little Married To Jonas. The show, which will be executive produced by Ryan Seacreast (you know, the man with all the time in the world), will chronicle the band as they move to Los Angeles and live together under the same roof.
The Wanted, known in their native UK as the ‘bad boy’ boy band answer to One Direction, are sure to offer entertainment, shenanigans and romance on air, with member Max George recently splitting from his finance and Siva Kaneswaran & Tom Parker in committed relationships. Another major change is in store for member Nathan Skyes as he will have to adjust to the American drinking age of 21. He is only 19 you see; wonder if that will have barring on the amount of time the boys spend out in the club and bar scene in LA.
Let’s not forget about the music, the whole reason for the move to LA. With massive hits like, Glad You Came (featured on every summer show & covered by Grant Gustin on Glee) and Chasing The Sun already on the bill, it will be interesting to see the opportunities that are afforded to the boys in Los Angeles. Which songwriters and producers will they get to work with? What kind of collaborations will they have coming down the pipes? I’m sure their US manager, Nano Tissera, will help line up a bunch of cool projects for them, he does work for Scooter Braun after all. Imagine if you will, going out to a small club in L.A. for a drink and there is The Wanted, doing a surprise acoustic for patrons.
Anyway, I digress; The Wanted Life (don’t worry, that’s just the working title) will premiere on E! in the US in June with an international premiere in the fall. I’ll be tuning in, will you?
