Originally from Oklahoma but now settled in New York City, Amy Virginia Buchanan has worked long and hard to make a name for herself in the city that never sleeps.
Such hard work has paid off and today, she releases her new album Not Us, which PopWrapped are delighted to exclusively stream below.
Not content with being a highly regarded singer-songwriter, she’s also a savvy businesswoman having set up a wildly successful members club , the Spring Street Social Society AND a talented actress and playwright with credits that include a one-woman off Broadway production titled The Michael Show which she wrote, produced and starred in.
Despite her many passions and talents, music has always been the priority for Amy and she has taken many risks to get to where she is today. They say the path to success never did run smooth, but even when things got tough, she didn’t quit and instead used a number of difficult experiences she went through – including a sexual assault – to influence and inspire her music.
Her album is a testament to all that she has endured and come through; a collection of tracks reflective of the pain and hardships she’s faced, but also of her steely determination to never let anything get in the way of her dreams.
