Facebook Adds Snapchat-Style Photo Editing Feature

Facebook’s new photo editor will allow users to add text, stickers, and more, similar to Snapchat, which has been rising in mobile app popularity.

With so many fun social media platforms for users to enjoy, ranging from Instagram to Tumblr, Facebook has taken the step of moving a little away from the ‘simple’ style it has now and is slowly incorporating a new photo editing feature.

This new addition will allow users to add filters, icons, stickers, and texts to photos, just like hugely successful photo app Snapchat, which the site has been in competition with for a number of years, having had a purchase bid turned down in 2013.

As of the moment, the new feature is only available to those with an iPhone with the latest iOS update, though plans are being made for an Android release in the future.

Anyone wanting to check if they have access to the feature can do so by uploading a photo to Facebook and if a little wand appears in the left hand corner of the image/screen, then it’s there and ready to have fun with. From there, with a simple swipe, photos can be edited or have one of seven filters applied before the images can be personalised further.

Be warned, though, any photos uploaded with the new feature are permanent, so be careful with the text and emojis you include!
