“The Phoenix”, the latest single off of Fall Out Boy’s highly anticipated “Save Rock and Roll” album, was released last night with their latest video.

And in this video? It gets epic and weird.

Fall Out Boy through their music is releasing a saga of music videos to a continuous story arc. We have no clue what is going on. All we know is that the band has found something and that people want it.

People want it badly enough to cut off Patrick Stump’s hand. I am not lying.

However, the videos for “My Songs Know What You Did In The Dark (Light Em Up)” and “The Phoenix” both prove to be fantastically compelling. The band has always had epic, bizarre and interesting stories in their videos in the past. “A Little Less Sixteen Candles (A Little More Touch Me)” ring a bell anyone?

So it makes logical sense that their latest album will have arc. It’s interesting and dark and a little weird. However, the music is divine. The band is diverting to different sound and yet it still feel connected to the roots of old.

They’re just teasing us for that release!
