Digital Spy offers us the first image of Andre 3000 (or Andre Benjamin) as legendary guitarist Jimi Hendrix in the biopic All is By My Side. The OutKast singer portrays the late rocker in a film that according to the Digital Spy article, is said to chronicle Hendrix’s career between 1966 and 1967, four years before his untimely death in 1970.
The official synopsis of the film reads as: “Jimmy James, an unknown backup guitarist, left New York City for London, England in 1966. A year later he returned – as Jimi Hendrix. All Is By My Side brings authenticity and poignancy to the story of the man behind the legend, and of the people who loved and inspired him.”
The film also stars Imogen Poots,
All is By My Side, directed by John Ridley, will have its premiere at the Toronto International Film Festival in September.
