The Dream Works film has been in the works for some time now, and we finally now get to take a look at what exactly it will cover. It has Cumberbatch sporting long, blonde locks and is about Assange, “as he prepares to leak confidential information on the US military’s Afghanistan and Iraq operations to the world’s media,” reports Daily Mail

The real life Julian Assange read the script for the film, and deemed it a “mass propaganda attack against WikiLeaks the organization, and the character of my staff.” Unsurprisingly, WikiLeaks has criticized the film since the trailer’s release.

Regardless, the film based on novels by Daniel Domscheit-Berg and Guardian journalist Luke Harding, should at least entertain audiences. After all, who is complaining about having Cumberbatch on the big screen?

The Fifth Estate is set to hit US theaters on October 18th.

What do you think? Does Benedict Cumberbatch make a convincing Julian Assange?
