If you’re anything like me, you’ve been really anxious and excited to see Jamie Foxx in action as Electro in The Amazing Spider-Man 2. Well, we don’t have much “action,” but as of today we do have a glimpse of Electro in the (glowing blue) flesh in the form of a 30 second teaser trailer!
We see close-ups of the raw workings of a homemade machine of some kind, accompanied by a chilling voice-over. When we zoom out we see the bright blue figure of Electro himself hooked up to the machine. Electro, also known as Max Dillon, gains his powers from a freak electrical/lightning accident. In the Marvel Comics universe, Electro is initially weak; he attaches himself to electrical equipment that he stole from Stark Industries. Now, the logo on these machines in the trailer is certainly not for Stark Industry, so we can assume Electro’s back story varies from comic book canon.
