Fly By Midnight returns with “Waking Up”

Fly By Midnight shows no signs of slowing down anytime soon when it comes to expanding their discography. Thankfully, FBM has just released another summer hit that you are going to want to get your hands on, ASAP. “Waking Up” is sure to prepare you for long days at the beach, by the pool, and time with your crew.

“Waking Up” is sure to have you wanting more and more. Unfortunately, there is no release date for their newest project, however, you can get your Fly By Midnight fix on every music streaming platform, where you’ll find hits like, “Lovely”, “You Belong”, “Just Say It”, and one of their newest tracks, “Waiting Tables”.

PopWrapped (PW): Was the process for creating “Waking Up” any different than when creating other Fly By Midnight projects?

Justin Bryte (JB): “Waking Up” was one of the first songs we wrote out in LA. We were so stoked to go out to the west coast and be inspired.

Slavo – A lot of the time it takes a bit to figure out when we want to release a track, but as soon as we finished writing this one we knew it had to come out on the first day of summer.

PW: I feel like with the music you two put out, each era showcases a different type of energy. For this release, specifically, would you say the energy behind the release is different?

JB: It’s great to hear you feel that because we feel the same way. I think it’s reflective on where we’re at in life and with our careers. This “era” behind the next record is still eclectic but definitely carries more confidence.

Slavo – There’s this carefree + euphoric energy behind “Waking Up” that I don’t think we’ve ventured into before. It’s exciting for us.

PW: I know we just got an album a few months ago. What can you tell us about your next album? Is it close to being finished or are you taking things slow?

Slavo – Feels like “Rerunning” came out years ago *laughs* … The next album sounds like a mature & natural progression for us. We’re continually taking more risks sonically which keeps the process refreshing for both of us. We’ve been co-writing with a ton of new people out in LA as well.. writers that we’ve looked up to and never thought would be this excited to be a part of our project.

JB – There’s a couple of collaborations we’re aiming for too that we think will really elevate the album as a whole. We’re close to being finished with the album. There’s two more we want to write back in NY just the both of us. There’s no rush.. but we’re always eager to give the world new music.

PW: It’s touring season and you guys are becoming a household name. Do you think you will hit the road soon? If so, where is your dream tour spot?

JB – We’re definitely going to hit the road with this new record. I think now it’s figuring out if we’re hitting the road with another act, or headlining our own rooms.

Slavo – We played a couple of the new songs for a showcase we headlined this week out in LA. The energy that radiates from our fans at live shows is on another level. We’re addicted to that connection so it will always be about the live show to us.

“Waking Up” is now available on all major music platforms. You can follow Fly By Midnight and their journey on all social media platforms.
