Four women who have the Miss USA crown and title in common have shed their designer duds and are posing for this risqué new poster in nothing but their birthday suits. Shanna Moakler (1995), Shandi Finnessey (2004), Susie Castillo (2003) and Alyssa Campanella (2011) bared all just in time for the 2013 pageant, which airs this weekend.
The striking poster shows the four stunners standing very close to each other, with menacing looks on their faces, next to the words: “Feel Beautiful in Your Own Skin, and Let Animals Keep Theirs.”
Moakler, Finnessey, Castillo and Campanella have joined PETA’s cause in an attempt to urge the pageant circuit to live a fur-free life. They are also petitioning to have fur coats cease being given as gifts, which is a common practice in some state pageants.
”As long as I’m the director of Miss Nevada, we will never award fur coats as prizes, and I urge my fellow pageant directors to make the same pledge,” Moakler stated during an interview with PETA. “Kind people today are taking a stand against cruelty to animals—so a fur coat is no prize for a compassionate, socially-aware woman.”
"I’ve been an animal lover all my life, and the more I learned of the torture that animals go through in the name of fashion, I just think it’s so unnecessary," Castillo admits. She also feels “blessed” have been teamed up with her sisters-in-arms “to take a stand united and to tell the pageant industry not to support the fur industry.”
Redundancy aside, how do you feel about real fur? Do you agree with these lovely ladies, or do you believe all bets are off when it comes to fashion?
