Former Teen Wolf Michael J. Fox Talks About His Own Show And Reboot

Adele Fredeluces
Staff Writer

Michael J. Fox has quite a line-up of guest stars on his upcoming NBC sitcom The Michael J. Fox Show.

The Michael J. Fox Show is about Mike Henry (Michael J. Fox) one of New York’s most beloved news anchors. He takes a break after being diagnosed with Parkinson’s to focus on his family and his health.

After five years he finds himself going back to work. It sounds like it’s loosely based on his real life – Fox left Spin City in 2000 when he was diagnosed with Parkinson’s.

During the NBC presentation for the TCA summer press tour, Fox revealed that fans can expect to see his former Family Ties co-star and real-life wife Tracey Pollan in a future episode. Like a true gentlemen, he praised his wife’s performance.

Pollan also revealed that she has a lot of fun scenes with Wendell Pierce who plays Harris Green, Mike’s former boss.

It also sounds like they’re working on getting other former co-stars from his hit shows Spin City and Family Ties as the show proceeds and new characters are created.

"As characters come up, we’ll certainly mine old friendships and working partners and get them involved," Fox said.

But who will we see for sure? We’ll be getting a mix of reality as Executive Producer Sam Laybourne disclosed that New Jersey Governor Chris Christie will be making an appearance as himself.

You can also expect to see Anne Heche as Mike’s old nemesis.

And while Fox’s past tv series were mentioned during the panel, he was asked about Teen Wolf and whether or not he’s seen the new adaptation. His response: “I haven’t seen it. I hear it’s really serious and scary.”

That is an understatement. It’s definitely different from the 1985 fantasy/comedy film.

Don’t forget to tune in on NBC on Sept. 26th!
