We’ve been hearing that another Friday the 13th film has been in the works for years, but have received little information on the highly anticipated 2017 horror film. Despite little details on the project, it does appear that the upcoming (possible) reboot of Friday the 13th has made progress with the script according to producer Brad Fuller.
The film’s producer spoke with This Is Infamous about the current state of the established horror franchise, explaining, “We have a great writer – Aaron Guzikowski is writing the script. Aaron wrote Prisoners. He’s a better writer than we deserve for this franchise. He’s fantastic. The script that he has come up with is really great, and we got it a couple weeks ago. We gave our notes to Aaron, the studio gave their notes to Aaron, and we’re waiting for the script to come back.”
The last time we witnessed the brutality of iconic horror villain Jason Voorhees was the 2009 film that used horror, humor and sex appeal to keep a similar vibe to the original films, so after more than 7 years – it feels like the perfect time to enjoy another return to Friday the 13th! If the film news has you eagerly awaiting more Jason, make sure to keep an eye out for the upcoming fan-funded video game that brings true horror genre gameplay to consoles in November.
