Holy crap, it’s been 20 years since Friends premiered. How old do you feel right now? Some of you might not even know a world pre Monica, Chandler, Rachel, Ross, Phoebe and Joey.
To celebrate this milestone, Warner Brothers has allowed a pretty sweet thing to happen. Between September 17- October 18 a pop-up replica of Central Perk will be open in New York City. You need the exact address before you book your flight? Well, it will be at 199 Lafayette St. (Lafayette & Broome) brimming with coffee and, I’ll bet, a crap load of tourists.
If I was in NYC, I’d definitely make the effort. The couch the gang sat on every day will be in attendance, as well as Gunther himself. Surprise musical appearances are scheduled to stop by, as well. It would be epic if a few of the cast members did random drop-ins. Could you imagine ordering a latte and Jennifer Aniston elbowed you to say you dropped your scarf. Clean up, aisle 3!
If you’re a west coaster, you can still visit the iconic Central Perk set in all its glory. It has been sitting on the Warner Bros. lot in Los Angeles for all these years just waiting for your butt to grace its presence. A picture on the couch is apart of the Warner Brothers studio tour. I’ve done the tour and it’s definitely worth it. You can find out more about the tour at their website.
