FX knows a hit when it sees one and has decided to renew the red-hot retro spy drama The Americans for Season 2, an amazing feat given that the show is only four episodes into its freshman run.
The Americans’ series premiere set a record for FX as the most-watched debut of any FX series ever with a Live+7 tally of 5.11 million total viewers. It declined for about two weeks until this week’s Episode 4 bounced back with gains of 22 percent in the very highly coveted 18-49 and 46 percent in 18-34 (nice!).
There is still plenty of time for viewers to get caught up in this drama for Season 1 has nine episodes remaining, with the finale set for May 1. If you are marathoner when it comes to TV, FX will air the first five episodes next Friday, March 1 starting at 10pm.
