The first character is known as Styr, he is the Magnar of Thenn and a very fierce wildling leader. He’s an imposing character who’s a part of Mance’s army. This character is quite different from the book since he leads the wildings over the wall in order to raid the seven kingdoms. In the series, this role was done by Tormund.

Another character the fans will be seeing is Oberyn Martell, also known as the Red Viper. Season four will now be introducing characters from the city of Dorne, starting with the price of Dorne. The third and final character is Mace Tyrell, who is none other than Margaery’s father. This comes as no real surprise because his daughter is getting married to Joffrey and will become queen. Lady Olenna, Mace’s mother, considers him to be quite a disappointment.

These characters are being cast as we speak, and more characters from the books will be introduced in the upcoming season as well. The 4th season is expected to air in 2014. The 9th episode of season 3, entitled “The Rains Of Castamere” will air this Sunday, June 2nd at 9pm on HBO. The season 3 finale will air the following week. It’s been said that the show may go for at least 7 seasons in order to cover all of the books in the series.
