Gangs of New York was an epic feature film and now the man behind it, iconic director Martin Scorsese, is looking to bring the adventures to the small screen.
Scorsese comments on the motivations behind the TV series, “This time and era of America’s history and heritage is rich with characters and stories that we could not fully explore in a two hour film. A television series allows us the time and creative freedom to bring this colourful world, and all the implications it had and still does on our society, to life.”
With the support of Miramax, the studio behind the original film, it shouldn’t take long to find a TV network or a killer cast to take part in the project.
This isn’t Martin Scorsese’s first foray into TV either. The wildly popular Boardwalk Empire is his brainchild as well. Here’s hoping the Gangs Of New York series can be added to that list
