Gavin & Stacey star Joanna Page has said that her recent experience of filming the 50th anniversary episode was “scary and intimidating at first”.  Talking to radiotimes.com, the Welsh star said that she had wanted to star in the sci-fi show for ages, and in the end the producers just rang her up and offered her a role, no audition needed.

As with much of this episode, not much is known of Joanna’s character however she very aware of keeping her role a secret.  She said “What’s scary is your script arrives and on every single page it says ‘Joanna Page’ over it so you know that if you leave it on the tube or if you’ve forwarded it to someone, you are in the s**t. So doing interviews I was like, ‘Don’t say anything. Make sure you don’t reveal anything.’”

She was full of praise and admiration for Oscar winner John Hurt who is joining Matt Smith and David Tennant as “The Doctor”.  Page said he was a lot of fun, and his voice made her realise ‘Oh my god, you are the best actor I’ve ever seen.’
