Geraldo Rivera has finally emerged from the bathroom and has commented on the sexy selfie that he shared with the Twitterverse on July 21. Rivera revealed that Fox News, his home network, demanded that he delete the mostly-nude photo that has been travelling the world at a rapid pace.

Readers beware: Should you continue, you will be traumatized, as the photo is on the next page…

If you’re still with us, thank you.  We’re sorry for putting you through that again.

Rivera, whom we all know recently turned 70, stated that after suffering from a bought of insomnia, he cracked open a bottle of tequila (a birthday gift) and decided to try his hand at photography. But not before putting on his erotic pink sun glasses.

"At 2:30 in the morning, you’re not thinking exactly logically," Rivera stated. "So I was back in the bathroom at 2:30 after my show gets off the air at 11 o’clock, and then you’re wired and everyone else is asleep, so you walk around. So I had a couple of drinks — I was down on the dock — and I said, ‘Goddamn it, I like that picture!’"

Good for you, Geraldo! Way to be secure in your sexy. Except…not everyone agreed with your “70 is the new 50” sentiment; including your kids.

"I woke up and it was my 18-year-old [daughter that was] the first I heard about it," Rivera explained. "She had written me in all caps, ‘TAKE THAT THING DOWN RIGHT NOW!’"

Rivera didn’t inform his wife that he had posted a nudie on the web, she found out from a friend who works for Oprah.

"We were sitting on the boat and she heard from her friend in Chicago who works for Oprah, and the friend, Robin, said, ‘Whatever you do, honey, you gotta say that you’re proud of your husband.’"

While Rivera continued to defend his actions, he ultimately pandered to Fox’s demands: “I took it down the next day after I heard from Fox.”
