Who You Gonna Call? Ghostbusters Adds Four New Castmembers

Ghostbusters has added four new actors, including another Saturday Night Live alum and a comedian from Veep.

The upcoming reboot of the iconic film Ghostbusters is starting to look like a future comedy classic with every new detail creating more hype and excitement for the film, and yesterday (July 6), four new stars became officially attached to the film.

Michael K. Williams, who is best known for his role on The Wire, has joined the film in a very secretive role, and his character is apparently being kept under wraps for now. In my experience, whenever a role is kept under wraps, we can expect that character to be quite a juicy role, and I wouldn’t be surprised to see Williams get the villain role in the film.

Cecily Strong becomes the next of the Saturday Night Live team to have a part in this film, joining former castmember Kristen Wiig, current castmembers Kate McKinnon and Leslie Jones, and perennial host Melissa McCarthy, in a role that has yet to be disclosed.  Joining Strong is another television comedy breakout star, Matt Walsh, who is best known for his hilarious and scene-stealing role as Mike in Veep.

Finally, Andy Garcia, best known for The Godfather Part III and the Oceans Eleven films, will be playing the role of the Mayor of New York City.

The reboot of Ghostbusters has been reported to have a release date of late July 2016 – so we have an entire year of teasers and anticipation waiting for us!
