In WTF news, the crossover event between Archie and Glee begins this week. I, for one, am curious to see how the wholesomeness of Archie combines with well Glee.

When news first hit about this crossover last year, everyone was understandably confused and curious to see how this would pan out. And in true Glee fashion, it’s going to be weird.

But if you’re like me and enjoy weird stuff coming through the halls of McKinley High, then this comic sounds like it will not disappoint. Because how do the two worlds meet? Dimension hopping.

This whole thing first started because of a friendship between Archie Comics co-CEO Jon Goldwater and Glee writer Roberto Aguirre-Sacasa.

“The Archie brand is very versatile and we’re continuing to explore our limits every day,” Goldwater said of the latest crossover.

Now if you’re worried that Archie and Glee are not going to mesh well together, Ryan Murphy said the story honors and celebrates “the two worlds. Not just their similarities, but their differences, which I’ve think we’ve done.”

“How perfectly these worlds mesh and how funny the comparisons are between the characters,” said Aguirre-Sacasa, “The idea was that rather than just have them meet at a competition to do something that was a little bit more comic bookish.”

Aguirre-Sacasa was given free-reign to tell the story in his own way. Using the ideas of wormholes and time warps to get the characters in the same place instead of just having the glee kids drive from Lima to Riverdale. The main plot is for the kids from both sides to get home but while having some fun detours along the way.
