Best known as Finn Hudson on Glee, Cory Monteith was looking healthy and happy in his first public appearance since checking out of rehab, having voluntary entered for substance addiction in late March. He later thanked fans for their support on his Twitter.
“Sending out big love to everyone. Thank you for the continued support! It means the world to me! :)”
Monteith’s girlfriend and Glee co-star Lea Michele also tweeted: “Today is a great day:) Love you all! Xo”
The couple were spotted together at Los Angeles International Airport, heading on what looked to be a much-deserved vacation, with witnesses reporting they looked “very happy, smiling the entire time.”
Glee co-star Kevin McHale has said he is proud of his friend for getting the help he needed, saying, “It was the right thing to do.” Monteith also received public support from friends Naya Rivera, Mark Salling and Jane Lynch.
Monteith has also had a previous stint in rehab during his late teens.
