Yesterday, Glee star Matthew Morrison tweeted:

“Tomorrow… ‘Something’s coming, I don’t know what it is, But it is, Gonna be great.’ Stay tuned.”

As any self respecting theater geek can tell you, that line comes from West Side Story’s classic tune “Something’s Coming”. Well, something did indeed come, when, this morning Morrison told the world, what that something was:

“It’s here! My music video premier of “It Don’t Mean A Thing…””

The song is Morrison’s first official single and is part of his upcoming album release Where It All Began, which will be in stores on June 9. The album will also contain some great theater classics from The Wiz, Oliver!, My Fair Lady, Guys & Dolls, the aforementioned West Side Story (of course) as well as a duet with R&B legend, Smokey Robinson.

Making his Broadway debut in the musical version of Footloose at the age of 19, Morrison’s big break came when he was cast in the role of Link Larkin in Hairspray. After staying on the stage for quite some time, he eventually made the transition to television, with guest-starring roles on Numb3rs, CSI:Miami, and Hack, before landing the role of William Shuester, the good-natured and well-meaning music teacher on Glee back in 2009.

Matt is set to perform three shows at New York City’s 54 Below, starting this Saturday, June 2nd
