Greg Berlanti Wants To See A Supergirl/The Flash Crossover

Executive producer Greg Berlanti would love to see a crossover between Supergirl and The Flash — whether it’s possible is a completely different question.

Do I smell another crossover event?

This time around, we are spotting the fastest man alive and the girl with super strength.  Executive producer Greg Berlanti (who works on both The Flash and Supergirl) was asked if he could see a crossover happening between the two shows. Berlanti’s answer: he’d love to see it happen.

When he talked to EW, he said:

“I would love it, a lot of things would have to go right and people would have to say ‘Yes’ — It would have to figured out very soon. It would all have to be figured out in the next month or so. As it remains right now we’ve talked internally about how cool it would be, but we haven’t had official conversations. [The CW chief Mark Pedowitz] is supportive.”

Both shows are currently filming episodes that will be airing later on in their seasons. With Supergirl only slated for 20 episodes while The Flash has 22 episodes, it doesn’t give them a whole lot of time to work on the crossover for the shows.

CBS has been known to be very reluctant to consider a crossover with the two shows. Not only do they air on two different networks, but they do film in two separate locations — whereas The Flash and Arrow, known for their epic crossover events, film just around the corner from one another.

Only time will tell whether a crossover will truly happen for these two shows. Until then, Supergirl airs on Monday’s on CBS, while The Flash returns on January 19 to the CW.
