Sentai Filmworks has made an exciting and unsurprising announcement: they have licensed the second season of the volleyball anime Haikyu!!

Here’s some news to brighten up one’s day – it certainly brightened mine! Sentai Filmworks has made an exciting and unsurprising announcement: they have licensed the second season of the volleyball anime Haikyu!! which premiered its first episode on October 3. Sentai licensed the first season as well, for a home-video release, and it’s now available for purchase on Blu-ray and DVD. Both seasons of Haikyu!! are available for streaming on Crunchyroll, whose description for the second season is as follows:

“After losing to Aoba Johsai at the Inter-High, the Karasuno High Volleyball Team is working their hardest toward the Spring Tournament. In the meantime, it’s decided that they’ll be heading to Tokyo for a training camp with Nekoma High and a handful of other powerful schools. They team is practicing hard, and not day during their run, Hinata and Kageyama get too excited and end up lost, and end up meeting someone rather unexpected…”

Haikyu!!, the widely popular anime adaptation of Haruichi Furudate’s popular sports manga of the same name, is a must-watch for its engaging characters and intense volleyball matches that will make any hater of volleyball into an instant fan of the sport! Check out both seasons on Crunchyroll and be sure to keep your eyes peeled for the second season’s Blu-ray/DVD release!
