Seeing as it is the most famous love story of all time, Romeo & Juliet has been done numerous times on both stage and screen. From New York Broadway to Leonardo DiCaprio and Clare Danes, the tale has been told time and time again. And now, in 2013, it is to be done once more.
“Two households, both alike in dignity, In fair Verona, where we lay our scene, From ancient grudge break to new mutiny, Where civil blood makes civil hands unclean. From forth the fatal loins of these two foes, A pair of star-cross’d lovers take their life.”
In this 21st century version, the infamous lovers will be played by Hailee Steinfeld and Douglas Booth. The film will also feature several top-bill actors including Ed Westwick, Damian Lewis, and Paul Giamatti, and a screenplay written by Downton Abbey creator Julian Fellows.
