Former Harry Potter director, David Yates, has decided to step in for colleague Ang Lee and direct the pilot for FX’s high profile project Tyrant.
Ang Lee recently departed the project about an American family in a fast paced Middle East nation.
Tyrant is created by the people from Homeland and Six Feet Under. The new drama was snatched up by FX after some competition.
Lee decided to leave the position stating he needs some rest after the four years he spent making the film Life of Pi.
David Yates directed four of the Harry Potter films, including the franchise’s two-part finale.
“It is one of the most brilliant ideas for a series that I’ve seen,” Lee said. We are looking forward to this anticipated drama.
