Hemlock Grove is part of a growing trend in the television world: it is aired exclusively on Netflix. The horror series premiered in April of this year and its 13 episode freshman run was a successful one.

"The worldwide fan response to Hemlock Grove was phenomenal,” Eli Roth, the show’s executive producer, exclaimed. “Netflix members loved the potent combination of sexy monsters, mystery, and the dark family soap opera that ended with a huge twist, leaving audiences worldwide totally shocked.
"Season one was just a warm-up for what we have in store for season two. Get ready to be scared in ways you never expected."
The show has been adapted from Brian McGreevy’s novel of the same name and hones in on a series of strange events taking place in a small town in Pennsylvania. An unforeseen companionship forms between a town newcomer and young heir, which is a pivotal plot line smack dab in the middle of the horror story.

Dougray Scott, Famke Janssen, Bill Skarsgård, Landon Liboiron, and Freya Tingley all star in the show; and Penelope Mitchell has recently been added to the cast.

The sophomore season is set to premier in 2014, with production expected to begin later this year for a 10-episode season.
