If you’ve ever watched an episode of How I Met Your Mother, you know the episode typically begins with a shot of Ted’s kids on the couch as he tells them this week’s story. In a teaser released at Comic-Con, the kids finally spoke back!
The unnamed son and daughter, played by Lyndsy Fonseca and David Henrie, finally shout back at the father when he begins on yet another story that has nothing to do with their mother. After eight long years, the duo finally snap asking when they will finally find out how he met their mother. “What the f**k is wrong with you?” says Henrie.
“You sat us down on this couch eight years ago!” adds Fonseca.
They go on to complain that they’ve gone through puberty on this couch and have survived on rain water and spiders. Fonseca evens states that she knows all the words to “Let’s Go To The Mall” but has no idea who the president is.
It was a clever way to introduce the final season while also voicing what some fans have been saying for years. Henrie even says how disturbing it is that Ted has been telling his kids about all the women he’s slept with over the years.
