Horror Flick Evil Dead Scares Its Way to the Top of The Box Office!

According to Vulture, the Evil Dead remake of the 1981 Sam Raimi film raked in $26 million and $30.5 million worldwide.

The horror film beat out G.I. Joe: Retaliation and The Croods, which both made $21 million and the 3D version of Jurassic Park ($18.2 million).

The film was directed by Fede Alvarez (who was chosen by Raimi to direct the remake), and as explained on The Hollywood Reporter, it “follows five friends who awaken a demonic presence while visiting a cabin in rural Massachusetts.”
