Hugh Jackman’s Original Wolverine Audition Is Amazing

Hugh Jackman has been Wolverine for as long as X-Men films have been a thing. Now that he’s done playing Logan, we’re looking back on his audition.

Hugh Jackman has been Wolverine for as long as the X-Men series has been a thing, and, now that he’s done playing Logan, we’re looking back on his audition and how much he’s changed.

For many, their only introduction to Wolverine was when Jackman portrayed him in X-Men back in 2000. So for the last 17 years, we’ve had Hugh playing our favorite superhero. But now it seems as if that time has come to an end. Or at least that’s how Logan makes it feel. It is, after all, in the future, so who knows?! Maybe he’ll make more appearances in the X-Men movies starring James McAvoy and Michael Fassbender.

But for now, Logan is reported to be his last. And what a good film to go out on! Logan is an incredible story with a great underlying message and shows us Wolverine in a new light.

So it is very interesting to go back and look at his original audition and see how much Logan has grown as a character and how much Jackman has changed as an actor. Because, if we’re being honest, this may be the first superhero movie (that isn’t The Dark Knight) that gets an Oscar nomination for a performance.

For now, it seems as if we have seen the last of Jackman as Wolverine, but watching this audition and the latest film, it is clear that Hugh Jackman was made for this role.

He will always be the best Logan that always was, and it was truly an honor to see him play this character that so many of us have loved since childhood. But who knows, this might not be the last. We might get glimpses of him in later movies, and, if we do, we’d all be happy about that.
