On Sunday, Hulu released the first look for its upcoming 10 part series, Love, Victor. The show, which is a remake of Love, Simon, is set to premiere on June 19 on Hulu, for LGTBQ Pride Month.

The trailer made its debut during Together in Pride, GLAAD’s live-streamed COVID-19 charity event. The show is based on the 2018 Fox 200 film, which was adapted from Becky Albertalli’s novel of the same name and became the first movie from a major Hollywood studio focus on a gay teen romance.

The preview shows Victor, played by Michael Cimino, who is a high school student coming to terms with his sexual orientation, attempts to get a job a local coffee shop. The assistant manager, Benji, played by George Sear, who is on shift takes his resume and invites him back to show him some coffee making skills. Victor is distracted by his potential co-worker by staring him in the eyes while steaming milk, leading to the milk exploding and making a mess. “I am so sorry,” Victor apologizes to Benji, who immediately begins to pat Victor’s chest dry with a towel. “It’s fine,” Benji reassures Victor.

“This is a bad idea. I’m sorry to waste your time,” says a flushed Victor, before running out of the shop.

The trailer for Love, Victor comes months after the series moved form Disney+ to Hulu due to it’s more mature content.
