While everyone had been prepping and tailgating for the Oscar weekend, the weekend’s other movie awards ceremony (and possibly the most relaxed of the bunch) – The Independent Spirit Awards – were held that Saturday afternoon before the Oscars in Santa Monica, California. Andy Samberg hosted the fun shindig (that must have been hilarious). The award show’s biggest winner was the David O. Russell offbeat romantic dramedy Silver Linings Playbook, which won four prizes: best feature, best director, best actress and best screenplay.
