Iron Man 3 has done what 15 other films have done before it- grossed over $1 billion.
The movie, starring Robert Downey Jr, has only been out for three weeks and made $311,404,000 in the US and $698, 900,000 globally on Friday, making for a grand total of $1,010,304,000.
President of Marvel Studios, Kevin Feige, expects the Iron Man movies to be “as evergreen as James Bond.”
The Iron Man movies link into the Avengers movies (last summer’s The Avengers and its planned sequel); however with the way this film ended many are questioning whether we will see Tony Stark in the sequel at all.
Four of the 16 films have been superhero movies, with Iron Man 3 joining The Avengers, The Dark Knight Rises and The Dark Knight.
