Ivy Levan’s star is rising fast. Championed by the likes of Tomo Milicevic of Thirty Seconds To Mars among others, there’s little doubt she’s determined to make sure 2015 is the year everyone knows about her.
Now, with recently released debut album “No Good”, complete with a Sting collaboration, impressing both fans and critics, she looks to be unstoppable as she puts her own unique stamp on the music world.
Her single “27 Club” was produced by Diplo and has now been remixed by Nightowls, Goshfather & Jinco, CLVY, Oji x Volta, RUSKO – marking his first release in six months – and Riddler.
How would Levan describe the track? Well, to put it bluntly:
“’27 Club’ is a really big eff you to living up to other people’s standards, no matter what just doing what feels right for your own sake, and I’m just happy people want to join me on that idea and remix the hell out of it.”
Meanwhile, immensely proud of his remix of the song, UK born RUSKO, now based in LA, declared “27 Club” was a testament to his belief that:
“It’s time for drum & bass.”
Speaking about their re-working, upcoming LA duo Goshfather & Jinco, who recently embarked on a huge 30 city tour, added:
“In a time of producers hopping on opportunistic remixes of the obvious big radio hits, we were so excited to get the opportunity to put our touch on Diplo and Ivy’s “27 Club”. The song already had such a vintage-meets-today feel so we wanted to make a club-friendly rendition that kept the drama and epic feel of the original, and we are satisfied with the results. The tune has been a huge highlight in our live sets and we are so thrilled to finally share it with the world!”
