Jack Conway has just dropped one of many awesome single releases for this year. Jack is a 24 year old singer/songwriter from Indiana. Growing up in a sports oriented family, he didn’t begin songwriting until he was 19 years of age.
He then quickly, became addicted to creating. He started drawing influences from artists like John Mayer, Charlie Puth, Shawn Mendes and the Jonas Brothers. Additionally, he crafts simply constructed melodies and distinct lyrics with infectious arrangements for a harmonious blend to the ear.
“Caught in the Rain was one of those songs that just happened. I’ll never forget, I was staying in the Bay Area at my brother’s house and I woke up with this melody in my head. Before I could forget it, I picked up a guitar and thus the guitar riff was born. I didn’t know where to take it melodically or lyrically right away, so when I had a writing session with two of my friends – Nick Isham and Will Baker “Papadiche”, I brought it up.…As all of the writing sessions I’ve been in go – we start talking about life and of course, relationships got brought up.”
“…This is where it gets cheesy…To be completely honest, we started talking about the movie “The Notebook”. That’s where the whole song concept came to be. (If you don’t know the storyline of “The Notebook”, I highly recommend you go watch it). I had a relationship in my life that had glimpses where it mirrored the movie and it was amazing to be able to bring it to life.”
“If you listen closely to the lyrics, you will notice it is a whole dialogue back and forth – an exchange from one person’s life to the other’s. & it’s all real – I actually moved from Indiana to LA, she’s in the Midwest (aka East Coast as the song would say). It’s also about authentically loving someone for who they are. That’s exactly what the relationship with this girl was. Call it puppy love or my first love, but it was the first time I had a person give me a glimpse at caring for someone for who they are on both the outside and in. Hence the lyrics “…needing more than your body today…”
“Caught In The Rain” is now available for streaming on all major music streaming platforms. You can also follow along Jack’s journey on Twitter, Facebook, Instagram and his Official Website.
