The ambition of rising talent Jack DeNicola really can’t be faulted; instead it perhaps should be greatly admired. Not content with working on just one album, in the coming months, Jack will drop 3 – a concept trilogy inspired by acts like The Weeknd, Pink Floyd and The Who – with the first dropping later this Spring. Before then however, PopWrapped are delighted to premiere the first single from the collection titled “Showtime.”
The track serves as an introduction to the trilogy’s protagonist, Moon, who has become infatuated with the idea of fame and fortune – something decidedly relevant, it could be argued, in this day and age, while musically, it’s heavy on sci-fi influenced production – think the Stranger Things soundtrack and you’re on the right path. The album will chart Moon’s journey as he pursues his wildest dreams, experiencing love, lust and trust, all on the path to what he hopes is a better, brighter and richer future.
Asked about the creative process and inspiration to “Showtime”, Jack says: “This is a song that I feel needs no introduction other than the first couple lyrics which utter the words, “Welcome to the show.” Showtime is only a small glimpse into the new world of music I have been creating for myself with my new team since the beginning of quarantine.”
He goes on to add: “This song’s inspiration originated from me and my producer’s love for the sound selection and nostalgic qualities found within the soundtrack to the Netflix’s Original Series Stranger Things. I wanted the song to feel like you were sucked into one of the episodes. As for anything else, I advise listeners to pay close attention to my music going forward since I strive to make my music more than just music, but a cautionary tale as well for myself, my album’s character, and for anyone else who wants to come to the show.”
