Jamar Lee has been removed from the Big Brother Canada house following actions show producers deemed as threatening to his fellow houseguests.
The removal comes after Monday’s live feed was down all day following a house meeting where houseguest Kyle Rozendal claimed to feel threatened by a hand gesture that Jamar made towards him and a female houseguest, Vanessa, also claimed she felt threatened but not to the point he would be physically violent. Jamar responded by apologizing to her and Kyle.
However, the apology came too late as show producers decided to remove him from the game. Insight Productions and Global released a joint statement revealing the news and the reasoning behind their decision to remove Jamar from the house.
“Insight Productions has made the difficult decision to remove a houseguest as a result of behaviour which occurred that was a breach of the Big Brother house rules,” the statement read. We at Global and Insight Productions take the rules of this competition seriously and with respect to all houseguests past and present, the confines of the Big Brother house can be trying, sometimes leading to a clash of opinions and emotions in an isolated environment. We handle these situations with care and caution, protecting the well-being of our houseguests and ensuring the integrity of this long-standing production.”
Following his exit, Jamar released a statement of his own across his social media accounts, apologizing for his actions.
“I take full responsibility for my actions – I lost my cool and that’s not okay. I’ve always stood behind what I believe in and I’m sorry if I let people down,” said he said. “I want to thank everyone for their love and support, it really means a lot…this isn’t the last of me! You feel me?”
Jamar’s exit will be shown in full in tomorrow night’s episode of the show.
Big Brother Canada airs Sundays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays on Global.
