Jane Fonda & Robert Redford in ‘Our Souls at Night’: First Look

Netflix has released a teaser trailer for its new film ‘Our Souls at Night,’ starring Jane Fonda and Robert Redford.

Love is in the air, and two Hollywood legends are reuniting on screen, thanks to Netflix. The streaming service has released a sweet teaser trailer for its new film Our Souls at Night, starring Jane Fonda and Robert Redford.

Based on the 2015 best-selling novel by Kent Haruf, the film tells the story of two widowed Colorado neighbors who come together years after losing their spouses. There’s no dialogue in the teaser trailer, but clearly Fonda’s and Redford’s characters will share a powerful connection. Also starring in the movie with Fonda and Redford are Bruce Dern, Judy Greer, and Matthias Schoenaerts.

Jane Fonda & Robert Redford: Reunion at Netflix

Actress, writer, activist, and fitness guru Jane Fonda is no stranger to streaming. She stars with Lily Tomlin, Martin Sheen, and Sam Waterston in the Netflix comedy series Grace & Frankie, which aired its third season this past spring and has already been renewed for a fourth. (She also recently received an Emmy nomination this summer for the show.)

Our Souls at Night will mark Fonda and Redford’s fourth appearance together on screen. Their first was in 1996, in The Chase, and their most recent was 1979’s The Electric Horseman. Their second collaboration, though, is their most well known: 1967’s Barefoot in the Park, a romantic comedy.

Earlier this year, in an appearance on Ellen, she told the daytime host that working with Redford on a film again all these years later brought with it a serious challenge: “The only problem with working with Bob is that I just look into his … I kind of fall into his eyes and forget my dialogue. God, so good looking.”

Our Souls at Night, starring Jane Fonda and Robert Redford, will be available on Netflix beginning September 29. Check out the teaser trailer below:
