Jason Priestley Heads Back to Grace Canadian Stage!

The now infamous 90210 zipcode may have made him a household name, but it was the Great White North where Jason Priestley got his start as an actor. It was announced this week that Priestley is returning to Canada (Toronto) to star on stage in the drama Race. Jason will play a fast-talking lawyer Jack Lawson whose firm takes on the case of Charles Strickland, a white man accused of raping a black woman. The story isn’t that simple of course, Lawson’s partner at the firm is a black man, Henry Brown (played by Nigel Shawn Williams).

Joining Jason Priestley and Nigel Shawn Williams as a part of the cast are Matthew Edison and Cara Ricketts with Daniel Brooks directing. The production will run at the Bluma Appel Theatre at the St. Lawrence Centre for the Arts for a month, from April 7th to May 5th.

ABOUT RACE

Race premiered on Broadway back in 2009 and starred James Spader, David Alan Grier, Kerry Washington and Richard Thomas. The show played a total of 297 performances over its 10 month run at the Ethel Barrymore Theatre, which most recently was home to the revival of Death Of A Salesman.
