“Throughout my life I’ve lived with depression. What I’ve learned is that the only real limitations are the ones we set for ourselves and if we can get out of our own way. We are capable of anything.”
New York-based singer/songwriter Jay Stolar has lived with depression his entire life. Over a year ago, however, Stolar found an organization called Love is Louder, which helps people all around the world see that love is louder than any internal or external challenge one might face. That moment has changed his life.
In the past 18 months, Stolar has teamed up with Love is Louder and created and directed a music video entitled “My Own Way,” in hopes that it could help other people dealing with different struggles in their own lives.
This video, which features the singing talents of Stolar and six brave individuals, is beautifully done and showcases that love is indeed stronger than anything. Check out the powerful and beautiful video below.
Stolar told Thunderclap:
“Last year, I was on a mission to become an advocate for mental health awareness. That’s when I found Love is Louder, this incredible movement helps people around the world see that Love is Louder than any internal or external challenge we face.
Last summer, after learning more about the movement, I wanted to create something that would allow us to share this message. One year later, we have finished a music video that explores the lives of an extraordinary group of people that are open about their lives, have embraced themselves and truly gotten out of their own way.”
