Jennifer Lopez Bares All At Britain's Got Talent

Jennifer Lopez is no stranger to courting attention in eye-catching revealing outfits (coming to mind immediately is her green Versace 2000 Grammys dress). Rarely does she comment on her wardrobe choices, however, viewer complaints about her revealing black outfit on Britain’s Got Talent have got her doing exactly that.

On the Tuesday night’s (28 May) semi-final of the ITV talent show, JLo performed her new single “Live It Up” wearing a body suit that flashed her bum cheeks. The outfit was one she had previously appeared in while performing at the Billboard Awards.

Hitting out at the outcry that has followed, JLo spoke to Scott Mills on his BBC Radio 1 show on Thursday (30 May) saying: “I think people are so much raunchier than I am. I feel like I’m so tame.” She described how she came to be wearing the body suit stating that it was the BGT producers that had requested the costume.

“We wore it at Billboard and Britain’s Got Talent said they wanted exactly the same. So I thought I’d wear the outfit in black. No one complained at Billboard. I think people just like to talk. It was a body suit. A lot of performers wear that these days. It is standard stage clothes. I’m not going to walk down the street like that!”

On being asked if she was wearing anything underneath the get up, she replied: “Sure, absolutely. I’m a pro – I know what I’m doing. I would never take those types of risks or anything like that.”

The singer appeared shocked that her outfit had caused such a stir and mobilised people to complain about it and her performance to regulator Ofcom. She insisted that she was proud of herself and her dancers, describing how they all “rehearse like crazy” and “take it super seriously”.

JLo will be joining Beyoncè, Ellie Goulding, Florence + the Machine and others this Saturday at the Sound of Change Live gig at Twickenham Stadium.
