If you’re a regular TikTok user, you might already be aware of 21-year-old singer-songwriter Jewels Gold. The powerhouse performer currently has 275,000 followers on the platform, with fans and users all over the world praising her vocal prowess as she shares her talents with the world. That talent is now set to reach even further as makes her official debut with recorded material.
Jewels is marking this new exciting chapter of her career by unveiling a collection of six singles which will be released over six consecutive weeks via Burnside/The Orchard with the last one dropping on March 18th. Each track will also be accompanied by a live performance video and today, PopWrapped are delighted to premiere the first of those releases called “Fond Memories.”
Asked about her thought-process when writing the song, she shares: “I wrote ‘Fond Memories’ to be the ultimate anti-love song. It’s about making your great escape from someone who held you back and finding a new sense of power.”
She goes on to add about the collection and the accompanying videos to and for each track: “I’m choosing to share my songs in their most natural form, and that’s exactly what this collection is. I’m inviting everyone to be a part of the songs as they evolve. I want to bring every listener on the journey from live acoustic performances to produced anthems.”
Her singles collection serves as a perfect introduction for those yet to discover this rising star, with her track “Royalty/Life Is Meant To Be Lived” sure to go down particularly well with fans of The Beatles and Queen, as it was inspired by their songs “Golden Slumbers/Carry That Weight” and “Bohemian Rhapsody.”
In celebration of her debut, Jewels is heading out on a short Northeast tour this month with Sofar Sounds, and has announced a headline date in NYC on April 7th.
