Not content with being one of the busiest TV stars of the last few years, Jillian Rose Reed, best known for her role as Tamara Kaplan in MTV’s Awkward, having already branched out into the world of YouTube channels and launched her very own “variety show” on the site, can now add the title of director to her resume. 

Already extremely comfortable in front of the camera – check out her variety show “We’re Dating” if you don’t believe me, or just watch the awesome show that is Awkward – she’s now finding herself familiar with being behind one too and has directed the music video for Marty Shannon’s latest track “One More Night” with model Brittney Berault as its star. 

The track itself is smooth and soulful, with Reed’s direction simplistic and well focussed on the reflective lyrics and assisted by Berault’s ease and confidence in front of the camera. Her direction also proves that you don’t need CGI or special effects to create something that will linger long after you’ve listened to or watched it – something tells me we may yet be seeing more of Reed behind the camera in the future, and rightly so, for she does a fantastic job here.
